Drawing Challenge #Day 19

The 19th drawing challenge today was to take a sheet of paper and fill the entire sheet with as many different faces as we could draw. The challenge was to draw out as many diverse personalities as we could to cover the entire surface of the paper. Not necessarily human faces. We could draw aliens, monsters, or animal faces as well. The idea was to have fun and experiment as we draw.

So, how did my faces turn out? Well, I approached this challenge using the doodle style. Though it was fun, it did seem very similar to a previous challenge in which we filled an entire sheet of paper with doodles. As many of my favorite doodles are of faces, I was afraid this one would turn out a copy of my earlier one. But thankfully it didn’t.

Here’s my drawing.

I started off with a large squarish face, slightly off-center. Then crowned it with several Scream-style faces. From there on, it was just a matter of filling in the spaces with whatever came into my mind.

At the end of it, though a bit repetitive, I did enjoy this challenge because I could draw whatever I want.

I have been reading voraciously since the age of five when I first discovered the joys of reading. I would lap up anything in print. Unrolling an emptied newspaper cone with one hand, stuffing roasted peanuts in my mouth with the other, all the while devouring the printed content on the cone with my eyes, was one of my first experiences in hedonistic pleasure. In fact, sometimes I feel that I am on an adventurous journey through the secret dreamworld of other people's imaginations, interspersed with occasional visits to my own life to attend events like graduation, first job, marriage, and so on. As a true-blue reader, I think I am uniquely qualified to comment on and critique other people's works of labour. I can tell exactly what puts the average reader to sleep, what sets their pulse racing, and what has them salivating for more. Write to me at leenatpandey@gmail.com.
